Our Story

SPEEDMINTON IN AUSTRALIA

In 2008, Geoff Bannister returned from Germany with his wife Nicole and one year old daughter Tessa, to introduce Speedminton to Australia. Unable to crack into the big retail chains, he started selling online and playing in parks, shopping centres and wherever he could set up a court.

He soon realised the potential in schools for a user-friendly racket game that sets up anywhere. After hundreds of demo sessions, PE Teacher conferences and work-shops, Speedminton became a main-stay for racket sport learning in this country.

Geoff has represented Australia at two Speedminton World Championinships in Berlin, and captained The Goannas in 2013.

Geoff remains the sole Australian importer and distributor of Speedminton. He is based in the NSW coastal city of Wollongong, where you'll find him smashing Speeders along the beautiful beaches and parks.

A simple, but lofty goal, is to have Speedminton played in every school, so that all Aussie kids can experience the joy of racket sport fun with their friends.
